From manufacturer document to public record

1. Source. Prefer official manufacturer guides, manuals, labels, and technical materials. Record the document identity, revision, hash, page, table, and applicable notes.
2. Transcribe. Capture every discriminator required to identify a source row. Missing specifications remain absent.
3. Validate. Schema and relationship checks reject incomplete, ambiguous, internally inconsistent, or unsupported records.
4. Review. A separate human review must match the source row, qualifiers, ratings, and footnotes. Approval applies to one exact record.
5. Publish. Fail-closed gates expose only complete independently approved chains through a public-safe projection that omits reviewer and workflow details.

What the calculator does

The calculator combines selected manufacturer-reference limits or manually entered limits with the weights supplied for people, cargo, accessories, hitch hardware, and trailer loading. It computes each compatible margin independently. The exact formulas and assumptions remain visible with the result.

A vehicle-label payload override is treated as more specific than a generic configuration reference. Changing the exact configuration clears the prior label override so one truck's value is not carried to another.

Unknown information stays unknown

A check runs only when its required inputs are available and semantically compatible. Otherwise it displays Not checked. TowLoad Guide does not replace missing payload, GVWR, GAWR, curb weight, tongue-load, axle-ratio, or transmission details with estimates or zeros.

Corrections and revision changes

A source revision is reconciled against the full scoped dataset before becoming active. Material differences stop publication changes for review. A correction must update the source lineage, affected records, tests, and documentation; it must not silently overwrite provenance or weaken an approval gate.

No public correction contact has been approved yet. The site owner must choose a monitored, privacy-reviewed contact method before launch rather than exposing an unconfirmed address or form.
